What Is It?
Triple Expression Mapping™ is Caterpillar Brow Bar's signature brow-design technique that evaluates your natural brows and facial movement through three distinct expressions before any pigment is placed.
By studying your brows at rest, during movement, and through natural expression, we create a shape that compliments your unique facial structure rather than simply forcing symmetry.
This personalized approach allows us to design brows that look balanced, intentional, and beautifully natural- not only when your face is still, but as you naturally move and express.
The Origin Story
The Triple Expression Mapping™ technique was created by Abrielle midway through her career—born from a single moment that completely changed the way she approached brow design.
During an appointment, Abrielle had completed her traditional mapping process and was preparing to begin the service when her client suddenly laughed.
"In that moment, I noticed something I hadn’t seen while the client’s face was at rest: the tail of the client’s left eyebrow dramatically scooped downward."
Abrielle immediately stopped the procedure and sat her client upright. She asked her to smile again—and there it was. The same movement happened again.
The client had an especially expressive smile, and the strength of her facial movement was pulling the outer portion of her brows downward and inward with every expression.
Rather than proceeding with the original design, Abrielle meticulously redesigned the brow tails to account for this natural movement. At rest, the brows were beautiful. In a smile, they remained beautifully balanced.
That moment changed everything.
Abrielle realized that a brow could look perfectly balanced during a traditional mapping process and yet behave completely differently once a client began to move, smile, laugh, or express themselves.
From that experience, Triple Expression Mapping™ was born.
Today, every CBB client goes through this signature process. Your brows are evaluated not simply as they appear in a mirror, but in relation to your facial structure, your natural movement, and the expressions that make you uniquely you.
